Slate has announced that pre-orders for its upcoming all-electric truck will open on June 24. Consumers will be able to finalize configurations and lock in a delivery window by putting down $300, though the deposit is non-refundable. The pre-order option is only available to those who have already paid the $50 refundable reservation fee.

Final pricing will be revealed on that date, likely directly to buyers during the configuration process. When the truck was first announced, a key selling point was a $20,000 starting price — a figure that assumed a $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles. With that credit now eliminated, the company says pricing will likely start “in the mid-twenties,” though it notes the “price is subject to change” for the US market.

The Slate is designed to be a budget-friendly vehicle, and the entry-level version — called the Blank Slate — reflects that philosophy. It ships with heating and air conditioning, but nearly everything else must be purchased separately. The company offers more than 100 accessories, including power windows, roof racks, and stereo systems. The base model ships with manual crank windows.

Design-oriented accessories are also available, such as paint colors, fender flares, and bumper guards. An SUV conversion kit is expected to cost $5,000.

Jeff Bezos is among the company’s investors, though he recently lost board representation. Slate has reported over 160,000 reservations for the truck. Deliveries are expected later this year.
