That’s not an insult - it’s the highest form of utility. So it’s genuinely strange that the MagGo Qi2 Stand, specifically the 3-in-1 foldable version, manages to fumble the same formula.

The hardware is fine. Qi2 certification means you’re getting the full 15W on a compatible iPhone, the Apple Watch puck is a proper fast-charge cradle, and the AirPods pad works as expected. Build quality is solid - the kind of matte plastic that photographs poorly but survives being knocked off a nightstand. Folded flat, it travels without complaint.

The Angle Problem

Where it starts to irritate is the stand angle. The phone surface locks at a fixed incline that sits somewhere between portrait video-watching and landscape FaceTime - useful for neither. Competitors like Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro and even Satechi’s cheaper alternative offer adjustable arms or at least choose a lane more deliberately. Anker seems to have picked the midpoint and called it versatility. It isn’t.

The Apple Watch positioning also requires your band to be unclasped or laid flat to sit without wobbling. That’s not a dealbreaker but it’s the kind of friction that accumulates across a thousand mornings.

The Price Makes It Worse

At around $90 USD at launch, this isn’t priced as a budget option. That’s close to the Belkin 3-in-1 territory, and Belkin’s MagSafe-certified version has an adjustable iPhone arm that actually pivots. Anker’s reputation gets them a premium; this product hasn’t earned the same.

If you’re buying Anker’s Qi2 stand specifically because you’ve had good experiences with their cables and bricks, that trust is slightly misplaced here. Their sub-$20 products succeed because they do one thing correctly. The moment Anker starts stacking features, the design thinking doesn’t scale with them.

For travelers who fold this flat and drop it in a kit bag, it’s probably the right call - compact, certified, and reliable enough. For a permanent nightstand setup, you’re paying for compromises that don’t need to exist at this price point.
