Three-in-one charging stations are a graveyard of optimistic promises. Every few months a new one appears claiming to solve the nightstand clutter problem, and almost every one of them ships with a proprietary power brick that runs warm, a watch charger that wobbles, or a MagSafe puck that tops out at 7.5W when you weren’t paying attention to the fine print. Anker’s MagGo 3-in-1 Qi2 Charging Station - the foldable version - doesn’t do any of that.

It charges your iPhone at the full 15W Qi2 rate. The Apple Watch fast-charge puck sits in a shallow recess that actually holds the watch steady. The AirPods pad works. The included 40W power adapter doesn’t run hot. None of this sounds like praise worth writing, but in this product category, consistently doing the basics is a genuine achievement.

The fold mechanism deserves a mention. The whole unit collapses flat, which makes it the first multi-device charger I’ve actually packed for a trip rather than defaulting back to a pile of cables. The hinge is stiff enough that it doesn’t droop when open, which sounds like a low bar but isn’t - the Belkin equivalent I used for a year slowly developed a lean that meant my phone would slide out of magnetic alignment overnight.

Where It Falls Short

The watch arm doesn’t rotate. If you prefer your Apple Watch charging in nightstand mode - which requires it positioned on its side - you’re just out of luck. That’s a meaningful omission for an accessory aimed at Apple users.

The magnetic alignment also takes a little more deliberate placement than I’d like. On a flat MagSafe pad, the magnet snaps your phone in hard and fast. Here, because the pad is angled upward to work as a stand, you have to set the phone down rather than drop it. Fine, not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing.

At around $90, it undercuts the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 by a noticeable margin while matching it on charging speed. The build doesn’t feel cheap - the matte finish picks up fingerprints slower than glossy competitors, which I appreciate more than I expected to.

This isn’t the most exciting product on a desk, but it’s the one I’ve stopped thinking about - which, for a charging station, is the actual goal.
