Every multi-device charging stand I’ve owned has had at least one port or pad that felt like it was included to hit a bullet point rather than to actually work. A Qi pad that only charges at full speed if you hit a specific two-centimetre sweet spot. A watch cradle that wobbles. A USB-A port on the back that nobody can reach in the dark. The Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Stand with Qi2 breaks that streak, and I’ve been using it nightly for six weeks now.

The MagGo locks your iPhone in landscape orientation using Qi2’s magnetic alignment - the same spec Apple uses for MagSafe, but open and licensable. This matters more than it sounds. Landscape on the stand triggers iPhone’s StandBy mode, turning the device into a bedside clock with widgets and smart home controls. Anker didn’t design for StandBy specifically; they just built a properly aligned Qi2 mount and Apple’s software did the rest. That accidental synergy is doing a lot of work here.

The Apple Watch cradle holds a puck charger - you supply the cable - and it’s deep enough that the watch doesn’t flex or wobble during charging. AirPods sit on a circular Qi pad at the base. None of these feel like afterthoughts, which is genuinely unusual.

The 65W brick that ships with the stand is larger than I’d like and has a fixed cable, so repositioning the stand means repositioning the brick. On a crowded nightstand, that matters. It’s the one real complaint I have.

What It Gets Right That Others Don’t

Price-to-reliability ratio. Anker’s MagGo 3-in-1 retails around $90–$100 depending on where you buy it. Belkin’s equivalent BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 runs about $150 and has had persistent firmware complaints around watch charging speeds. The Anker unit simply charges things. The LED indicators are dim enough not to bother you at 2am, which suggests someone at Anker actually slept next to a prototype before shipping it.

I’ve tried three of these category products in two years. The MagGo is the first one where I stopped thinking about whether the charger was doing its job and just went to sleep.
